I’m Karen Sharples and I’m going to be participating for LHCH charity abseiling event, down Liverpool Anglican Cathedral on Saturday 24th August. I have never done anything like this before, so it’s a challenge for myself, whilst also raising money for this hospital. 

The reason I’ve chosen this hospital, is because my husband, Lee, had open heart surgery last year in July 2018. All the staff, and surgeons in the hospital from all the different departments that my husband came into contact with were brilliant. The before and after his operation, how they looked after him, nothing was too much trouble. The after care my husband still receives is ongoing and will continue throughout the rest of his life. So my reason for doing this charity event is to give LHCH something back as a massive thank you for giving my husband a second chance.
