BUPA Great North Run 2009 · 20 September 2009 ·

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

Welcome

Thanks for taking the time to visit my page and support Charlotte and I in our 2009 Great North Run for the Stroke Association.

I'm doing this because both my parents have had stokes and the one Mum had last year was pretty severe.

The Stroke Association is the only National body to support those affected by Stroke.  Stroke is pretty serious - it's when a clot or bleed causes brain cells to die.  Anything the grey matter controls can be affected.  In Mum's case it was her speech.

Anyone, of any age or gender can have a stroke.  Every 5 mins in the UK someone has a stroke.

Every penny you give through this site will go to the Stroke Association and every stride Charlotte and I take ove rthe 13 miles will be our thank you.

Thanks very much

Karenza
