So on the 8th June 2019 my dear friend Gloria and I will be embarking on a gruelling physical and psychological challenge to raise some pennies and awareness for 2 charities close to our hearts. Sadly Gloria lost her dad Bruce to prostate cancer and in her true awesome spirit wanted to do something in his memory.... “of course I’ll be by your side”.... I hadn’t quite anticipated what I was signing up for until it was too late 😳 

For some, during times of grief or illness or through life’s bumps and challenges, putting one step in front of the other can feel like an impossible task. For me, when times have been rough I’ve always found exercise to be my sanctuary.... that and walking side by side with some of life’s most treasured souls....so embarking on this challenge feels like a great opportunity to encourage people to think about getting outdoors as a way of staying physically and psychologically well. 

The undulating hills along the Jurassic coast will no doubt be tough. I hope the training that we’ve invested in will help us to tackle the ups and the downs head on in order to enjoy some spectacular views along the way. I know that together, we will support and encourage each other through the best and the worst bits, all in honour of Bruce and anyone who is struggling to put one foot in front of the other! 

For those of you that don’t know Mind is a national charity that provides information and support to promote better mental health. Hopefully you’ll agree monies raised will go towards a very worthwhile cause!
