Story
On 3rd April 2010, my future father-in-law sadly passed away having battled with dementia for 10 years. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. His strength, relentless determination and continued heartfelt appreciation of life’s simple pleasures are an inspiration to all who knew him.
The Alzheimer's Society is committed to defeating dementia through research. The Alzheimer's Society research programme provides funding for research into the cause, cure, care and prevention of dementia to improve treatment for people today and to search for a cure for tomorrow.
Dementia research is seriously under-funded. The government invests eight times less in dementia research than cancer research. If nothing is done now, one million people will develop dementia in the next 10 years. Even by delaying the onset of dementia by five years, we could halve the number of deaths from this devastating condition. We must invest in research to defeat dementia.
Your support will help us to provide and expand these vital services. So please give us much as you can.
Thank you so much for your support.
