Story

UPDATE 2nd August........  I've DONE IT!!!  In lovely sunny weather with lots of people cheering everyone on, I ran all the way in 59 minutes and 27 seconds!  Well I wanted to do it in under an hour!

THANK YOU to everyone who's sponsored, I'm so so touched at how generous everyone has been, and really cannot believe how much has been raised.  I was thinking of my mum when I was running, and know she would have loved my costume and to laugh at me running!  It's so nice for the Huntington's Disease Association to have raised so much.

........

As I'm sure most people know, my mum died earlier this year.  She was diagnosed with Huntington's Disease just after my little brother was born, 15 years ago.  The disease didn't affect her too much to start with, but did gradually get worse.  Her movements were very eratic and she had difficulties walking, talking and eating.  But she did still love watching films, ET and Ghost were two of her favourites.  She also loved trashy mags like Chat and Take a Break right until she died of a lung infection in March.

I want to try and raise as much money as I can for the Huntington's Disease Association, so maybe one day there'll be even better treatment, or even a cure for the illness.

I'm running the Jane Tomlinson 10K run for all.  I've checked, and you can raise money for a charity that's close to your heart, and I would like to raise money in honour of my mum.  Who probably would have laughed at the idea of me running anywhere, let alone 10 kilometres!

I'd be so so grateful if you could donate anything, even just £1 or £2, to take me closer to my target.  (Although large donations are just as welcome!!)

I've chosen £550 as my target, as mum would have been 55 this year, so it seemed like a fitting number.  I don't think I'll make this much with just this run, but I'd like to raise it by the end of the year.

Ooh, and if you could click to reclaim gift aid that'd be great!
