Story

2/4/12  Done!  I ran the Reading Half Marathon on 1st April in a shockingly slow time of 2hrs 29 mins, but ran all the way without walking at all.  Not a bit.

Thank you so much for all your fantastic donations - as you can see you've helped to raise over £300 for Marie Curie, and I know it'll be really appreciated.

The knee is, well, larger than life, and legs are screaming a little, but it was well worth it!  Not sure I'll do it again though....

It appears I will be running in the Reading Half Marathon on 1st April 2012.  If you know me at all, you'll know I am the last person who would consider running anywhere (scarred for life by the red gym knickers on the school cross country) but I think this is for a worthy cause and would be really grateful for anything you can give!

This isn't one of those "I'm doing something fun that I'd like to do anyway and may as well get others to pay for it" type charity events.  I paid for the entry myself, and the rest is just blood, glow and tears.  And I'd much rather jump out of a plane...

I started training in December - 12 minutes on a treadmill, and most of those were walking!  More recently I've improved, and have been running IN THE SNOW and everything.  So far I can just about manage a 7 mile run, so just another 6.1 miles on top of that and I'll be laughing (or more toenails will be falling off, one of the two).

A huge thanks!

Kate
