Horses are extremely important to me , and I believe strongly that these beautiful animals need to have their own advocates, just like other animal and humanitarian causes.

British Horse Society Welfare strives to promote equine welfare by educating, advising and supporting horse owners to prevent cases of neglect. They train and support a network of welfare officers to deal with local welfare concerns, and they promote responsible breeding and support breed societies. The BHS acts promptly on reports of horses in distress, and they continually fight and lobby for horses' rights. They also deliver quality advice and support to horse owners on a variety of issues.

To raise much needed funds for the BHS, I will be embarking on a 10 day ride from Chile, across the Patagonian Mountains into Argentina. Riding the indigenous Chilean Creole horses, we will be in the saddle for up to 7 hours a day, and caring for our mounts while negotiating precarious paths and fording wide rivers.

I know as well as anyone else how many worthwhile causes are asking for donations these days, but it would mean a lot to me if you would be prepared to sponsor me. I guarantee that every penny I raise will go directly to the charity.
