Story

This part of the page asks me to 'tell my story.' It's not really just my story, it's the story of my family...

In 1984 my mum and dad welcomed their first child, Chris, a beautiful ginger-haired sprog.

Unfortunately, it soon became apparent that the 3 of them were going to have a long battle with cancer on their hands. He had developed retinoblastoma and sadly had to have his eye removed at just 3 months old. Whilst this was unimaginably heartbreaking, they battled and carried on with their life and had me.

Over the years, Chris had cancers recurring in various forms. But despite numerous operations and multiple treatments, sadly he lost his fight on the 8th February 1999.

Many of you will know Chris or at the very least have heard of him. He was a golfing prodigy, a comedy genius and most importantly to me, he was my big brother.

My parents have already done their part. Nobody could have fought harder or done more to help Chris live as well as possible for as long as possible.

But now it's my turn to do something. I was just a little sister back then, but now it's time to do something worth while....

So to mark his 20 year anniversary, I (along with a group of my adoring fans and family) will be climbing Snowdon.

This may not seem like a big challenge to a lot of people, but admittedly I'm very unfit and scared of the cold, so this is a big enough challenge (and the other option was shaving my head so...)

Please, please give what you can and help me raise money for this wonderful charity CHECT.

No child or family should suffer from cancer. Let's help put a stop to it.

Kate
