Story
I am a 16 year old aspiring violinist from Dorset and my aim is to raise money for the amazing Pro Corda Trust.
I attended my first course last year and it was musically one of the best experiences of my life. It was so inspiring to be surrounded with musically ambitious and like minded people - and to be able to work with them to play chamber music that most musicians don't get to play until they are in their fourth year at music college!!
Pro Corda is one of the largest music and performing arts charities in Europe. It serves over 2,500 young people each year and is the only UK music course provider to dedicate equal course time to children with special needs and disabilities.
All its training – from its flagship chamber music courses to its special needs programme – draws on the core principles of small ensemble: training young musicians in small groups with no conductor. Its educational ethos promotes responsible and sensitive leadership, creativity, risk taking, and working together to create something truly great.
Pro Corda has reached the milestone of its 50th birthday growing from an organisation running just a few summer school courses each year to a full time music school operating over 50 courses and programmes. As a purely private charity it relies on donation support to help ensure its mission reaches as wide a range of young people as possible, including those most vulnerable and in need. Your support for Pro Corda is very much appreciated.
