Simplyhealth Great North Run 2019 · 8 September 2019 ·

Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love. With your donations, we power groundbreaking cardiovascular research to save and improve lives, bring hope to families, and keep hearts beating across the UK.

Story

Great North Swim: complete! I've already survived a jaunt around the 14 degree water of Lake Windermere. (See photo for evidence of the medal and frozen limbs.)

Next up, on 8 September I'll be running the Great North Run. A half marathon from Newcastle to South Shields. Fun!

The final leg is the week after, and I'll be cycling the Coast to Coast. From Whitehaven to Tynemouth over three (hopefully sunny) days.

I'm raising money for the British Heart Foundation after losing two relatives to heart-related causes last year. Donate what you can - it's hugely appreciated!

The British Heart Foundation has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the British Heart Foundation can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target.

Thanks!
