Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I've been involved with Dan's Fund for Burns for seven years now, since I was badly burnt in an accident leaving me with first, second and third degree burns. After many, many years of operations and treatments I can now say that as of December last year I am no longer under the hospital and I was finally discharged.
However Dan's Fund for Burns remains close to my heart as they were the charity that I reached out to for advice and guidance during my treatment, making some great friends along the way.
I'm running this half marathon to not only recognize the great work that they do for burns victims here in the UK but to also help raise their profile - they are a small charity making a real difference to people's lives.
This year's run is an extra special one as a number of other runners will join me to run for the charity, including Polly (Miller) Brooks the Founder of Dan's Fund for Burns and also survivor of the Bali bombings in 2005. This year marks the 12th year since the bombing and running this half marathon will be an incredible achievement for all of us, but especially for Polly. You can read Polly's story on the website:

I ask that you donate any amount to this worthy cause and if you can come along on the 12th October and support us on the day.
Thank you!
Katherine
