Hi... I'm doing this Marathon of words for a few reasons.. Firstly because I want to raise money for a life saving service.. Secondly if it wasn't for the many groups they provide.. The the creative writing being the group that's gave me the passion and words to even enter this marathon.. Thirdly being a survivor of childhood sexually abuse. I've been with safe space for 11yrs now on and off.. Doing one to one counseling and taking part in the many groups.. Through being at safe space I've come to have the strength, courage to progress to being the person I am today.. This journey hasn't being the easiest facing the childhood fears going to depths of dispare.. talking about the memories that crippled me for over 20 yrs, touching emotions that have had me curl up in a ball where I'd sob my little heart out which a still do even as i type i have tears but im not curling up in the ball. Nightmares, waking yourself up due to hearing your own screams.. unable to sleep.. blackouts and flash backs.. Food disorders. OCD, Agoraphobia to name a few issues iv over come and still am.. ,  when you have to try and be the best mum you can when your so lost inside, its so very hard to do when you are a single mum in a new district and village, you don't know anyone and no family support and with 3 young sons.. How do you survive ??? You find safe space .. Then you start to discover this amazing person slowly you start to dream .. Then your dreams start to come true.. Then before you know it you have went back to college done your highers .. Trained in massage and life coaching skills.. Then your sons start to live their own life's and you can let them go to different towns even country's.. Then they are young men who you become even more prouder when they accept your coming out and being a woman who is Gay.. They touch my heart in ways they don't even  know they do. They are my angels.. In summing this up Safe space is more than a just a service.. Safe Space along with my sons are the family who saved my life.. So please help me, to help them, so they can help others have dreams and smile again just like me !!!!
