Story

I know a lot of you will already know my story but in May 2012 weighing over 25 stone, I decided it was time to change my life! On 8th May I joined Weight Watchers and began this journey. In October 2012 I decided it was time to begin structured exercise for the first time in my life, and began training with Tom from Ultimate Fitness Experience.Little did I know this journey was actually going to completely change my life.

During 2012 and 2013 the main focus was loosing weight and gaining a fitness.I completed the Shrewsbury Half Marathon and 2 Shropshire Mud Runs.

I decided I needed to do something to keep myself motivated during 2014, to help me continue to maintain  a healthy lifestyle. I had developed a passion for “Mud Runs” so decided to set myself a challenge of 12 Challenges in 12 Months, so every month I complete challenge.I didn’t plan to do this for charity it was just for personal motivation / achievement.

So Far I have completed :-

While Run , Kick Ass Enurance Buildwas , Shropshire Mud Run Series Round 1,2 and 3 , Worcester Half Marathon, Shrewsbury Half Marathon,  River Rat Race London

With the following to complete:-

Shropshire Mud Run Series Rd 4 and 5, Kick Ass Endurance Weston Park and the finale of a SKY DIVE

There have been many people that have played major parts of this journey, but my biggest influence has been my mum. she had always wanted me to live a healthy and happy life, and to see how proud she is makes it all worthwhile.

My mum has watched all of my challenges, but unfortunately after my August challenge, my mother had a major stroke on our return from London and was rushed into the PRH. She was treated on the Stroke Ward for the first 10 days, where she made fantastic progress. I believe the treatment she received in those days has left us hopeful a full recovery may yet be made. She was then transferred to RSH where she currently remains.

Seeing my mum in the Stroke Ward during the first few days was the hardest thing I have had to deal with, it completely broke me. The support I received from the Nurses on the ward was unbelievable.

Whilst in Telford she asked me if I could raise some money for the Stroke Ward as she wants to give something back for the care she received. So we decided I could use the Sky Dive I have planned for December to finish the 12 Challenges as a way of raising money.

So the 6th of December 2014 I will be Sky Diving at Tilstock Parachute Centre, please fell free to come and watch and support myself, or even enjoy seeing my quiver!!!!

Any donation will be greatly received by the Ward so they can continue to provide the level of care we received. These people have given us hope and belief that with continued treatment and support a recovery will be possible.
