Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

A friend of mine persuaded me to run for the Stroke Association as she has run the Manchester 10k for them since her dad suffered a stroke a few years ago. Coincidentally, around the same time a colleague at work's father also suffered a stroke. Hearing from both of them about the effects of stroke on the individual and on the wider family really raised my awareness of the far reaching impact of this often disabling condition.

This is my first race in 6 years after injury forced me to give up running in 2006. One leg operation later and I am looking forward to going back to the Great Manchester Run as I have some great memories of running it in past years. I plan to walk, shuffle, jog and maybe even get up to a run round the course. Your donations will will serve the dual purpose of helping the Stroke Association achieve their mission statement and keep me motivated over the next few weeks of training as I aim for a 10k level of fitness!
