Story

Lucy Sawtell was born on 9th February 2012, 8 weeks premature. Without the amazing staff and facilities at Chelsea and Westminster she wouldn't be here now. Put simply she can't feed herself, and she needs a drip into her stomach. When she was born she needed help breathing, regulating her temperature, and needed treatment for Jaundice. Hopefully in another 2 to 4 weeks she will be well enough to come home. Please have a look at the photos, it will give you a feel of what it's like on the Neonatal unit and how far Lucy has already come in 2 weeks.

Neonatal care is very expensive, it costs £1400 for 1 day’s care for a baby in Neonatal intensive care unit and £25k for 1 incubator for use in the Neo natal intensive care unit. Any money you give will go directly to the Neonatal intensive care unit and will help other premature babies or babies who need surgery as soon as they are born. It is humbling to see what the staff can do when they have the right resources. Anything you give will be gratefully appreciated. From Kathy and John

Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the Chelsea and Westminster Health Charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.
