We care for children with complex needs to provide support and make memories

Story

In July I will be taking part in my first ever Olympic distance Triathlon (that's a 1.5km open water swim, a 40km bike ride and a 10km run). To say I'm petrified is an understatement! It will take me over 4 hours to complete it and is twice the distance that I've done before.

I've chosen to raise money for Laila Milly as it provides respite care and support for children with life limiting illnesses. It's also somewhere for their parents to go for help and support too.

The foundation was established by my good friend Maya in memory of her daughter Laila Milly who died the day before her first birthday. Maya and her husband Steve work tirelessly to support other parents and children who are in the same position they were.

I hope you can spare a few pounds for this amazing local charity.

Thank you, Kathy xxx

About the charity

The Laila Milly Foundation was set up in 2010 by Maya & Steve McCormack after their daughter Laila was born with a rare neurological condition. Sadly Laila passed away a day before her 1st birthday. They set up a day respite centre in West Yorkshire to provide care for disabled children aged 0-5.
