Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My darling Husband Ben died unexpectedly 6 months ago. His passion was rugby - either playing but more latterly spectating. It was a truly moving tribute that his friends organised a Charity Game on 13th May, 2017 to raise funds for State of Mind, a RFU charity that promotes mental health and Jigsaw SouthEast a child bereavement charity.
Rugby was Ben's utter passion. He frequently played on the village sports field with his 13 year old and it wasn't the weekend if he didn't watch at least a couple of games often with our 2 year old on his lap.
Last Saturday, The Chiddingstone Badgers took on the Tunbridge Wells Barbarians; it was a tough game and to say the score was close would be a fib but both teams played fabulously. Thank you to the players.
During the game hundreds of spectators, children and dogs were kept fed and refreshed. Thank you Larkins for the barrels of bitter and local butchers Allmans for the selection of meat for the BBQ.
We held a silent auction - thank you everyone for the extremely generous and varied auction lots and the main game was followed by a touch rugby game for the small people.
The antics continued post matches up in our local pub, the Rock Inn where vast quantities of chili was consumed. Thank you to our landlady.
It was an amazing day, Ben would have loved it and it was fabulous tribute to him whom will all miss so terribly much.
