Bupa Great North Run 2014 · 7 September 2014 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
My dad and i are taking part in this years Great North Run.
I myself am taking part on Saturday 6th September in the Junior Great North Run, this itself involves a 4km run around Gateshead.
I have been training very hard for the Great North Run and regularly take part most Saturday mornings in our local 5k Barnsley Parkrun.
I am really looking forward to taking on this challenge and this is so personal to me, as most family and friends know, i have Epilepsy, it affects me in so many ways, every hour, every day, i so want my independance but understand there are so many safety concerns around what i can and cannot do.
Having continually lived through this condition for over 8 years, i feel it is only right to try and contribute to an amazing charity that is Epilepsy Action.
Over the years, through highs and lows they have given me and my family support to deal with the Epilepsy i have.
I will not let Epilepsy run my life, i shall live it as i want to and Epilepsy can fit in somewhere along the way.
Forgot to mention, my dad is doing the Great North Run, i really hope he gets under 2hrs otherwise he will be grumpy for another year!!!
We are both trying to get as many sponsors as possible as a team, because as a family we are a great team.
Please give what you can, there are so many worthwhile charities out there but this is really personal to me.
Thank-you and love to you all Katie xx
