In October I’ll be running the Yorkshire 10 mile in memory of  my friend Sammie who passed away in July. She had fallen ill due to autoimmune encephalitis early in the year and had been in hospital since February. Encephalitis is something I knew nothing about prior to this and still is pretty unknown to most people could affect anyone (even if they believe they are healthy). I hope to raise money to go towards care for those affected and research in hopes that in the future people who fall ill like Sammie did can recover quickly and fully!

Sammie was a funny, kind, intelligent person who I valued as a friend so much! I know many of you will have known her and agree.
