Story
I am running Manchester (2019) and London marathon October 2022 to raise money for Asthma UK.
My own asthma was only diagnosed a few years ago and since using my inhalers daily my peak flow has doubled. I no longer struggle to get my breathing right whilst running, which always used to stop me in the past.
Drew is now taking inhalers to as we suspect he also has asthma and my father in law and one of my best friends are also sufferers.
Asthma is a hidden problem and undiagnosed or untreated can be fatal. I would like to see better diagnostic testing and monitoring developed.
A few years ago I would never have made it round the fun run or a race for life without stopping to walk or swear like a navvy (or both). I used to get so frustrated that I couldn’t keep going. Since taking my inhalers daily I can run like forest gump (although only in distance not speed). Several trips to the doctors over many years with breathing issues and nasty infections and finally fixed.
Anything you can spare for this amazing charity will be very gratefully received. Look out for raffles / bake sales and other fundraising madness. I’ve not done fancy dress yet so any suggestions??
