So after having my name pulled out of a hat at 1st reserve I have now been told that I am one of the "lucky" ones who has managed to secure a place in the 2017 London Marathon!

Never did I think I would actually get in however it seems the stars have another plan in store for me and as this will be a huge challenge for me I would like to use this opportunity to raise as much money as possible for the incredible charity, Headway.

Headway work tirelessly to provide support, information and services to people in Jersey who are affected by brain injury. Acquired brain injury(ABI) covers all situations in which a brain injury has occurred since birth including traumatic brain injury from road traffic accidents, assaults, falls and accidents at home or at work as well as tumour, stroke, brain haemorrhage and encephalitis.

Everyone is at risk regardless of age or social standing. The effects on the individual and their families are dramatic. Most will require some form of assistance which is where Headway step in.

They completely rely on donations from the general public and local businesses in order to continue to provide Islanders with the care they require after brain injury. It currently costs in excess of £250,000 a year to run the Headway centre and provide their services. 90% of this cost raised through fundraising and donations.
