Story
On October the 17th at 6pm we will set off on our 50 mile walk, finishing (hopefully) at 6pm Friday 18th. We plan to walk the last 20 miles in and around Evesham, so we can get as much support from friends, family and the people of Evesham to help us conquer our amazing walk.
This is our story...
June the 24th we lost our beautiful baby due to an Ectopic pregnancy. My left Fallopian tube ruptured at 12 weeks pregnant after having two injections of methotrexate, chemotherapy drug, to try and stop our baby growing any further. I had to have emergency surgery after bleeding internally, a full cesarean to remove my left tube along with our beautiful baby.
Not only did i have to recover physically, we as a couple also took a massive hit mentally, not knowing if we should grieve for our baby or grieve for the parts of my fertility that we had just lost. I'm 25.
Joining me on my walk, will be my mum and my brother. Loosing a baby doesn't just effect us as parents but also the rest of our family. Our daughter lost a sibling, and our parents lost a grandchild. We want to raise as much awareness as possible about Ectopic pregnancies, as i for one, had never heard of it until the unfortunate happened.
'Ectopic pregnancy is a life threatening condition that is the leading cause of death in woman in early pregnancy. Woman who suffer have to face the physical trauma of major invasive treatment, their own mortality and the impact of their future fertility.'
The Ectopic Pregnancy Trust believes that the deaths and trauma associated with Ectopic pregnancy should be prevented or minimised and seeks to support women and their families through this difficult period of their lives. The Charity also provides Information, Education and Support to medical professionals who treat early pregnancy complications.
