So I'm running a half marathon.... in Lebanon... to raise funds for a charity called Open Doors! This challenge has three parts for me.... firstly running - it doesn't come naturally and normally I stop as soon as it gets cold or wet! I'll be running through the winter three times a week to get myself ready. Secondly the location - Lebanon is not the first place you would think to go to take part in a half marathon but while there I will meet families who have had to leave their homes and see first hand how the charity is helping them not just with day to day living but also with helping them to get work and ultimately if possible to return to their own countries and communities. The third part of the challenge is the fundraising... it's not a small target but think what a difference this amount could make in peoples lives. Also although the target is high if there are people who feel they can give £25 regularly each month then every one of them counts as £1000 towards my target - get in touch with me if you feel you are able to do this.
