Kayaking For Autism · 14 July 2021
Hi there, my name is Andrew and my younger sister and I will be kayaking from the source of the River Thames, to Henley-On-Thames bridge raising money for Autism Family Support Oxfordshire. This event will take place between 10th April and 14th April 2022!
In Summer 2020, my little boy was diagnosed with autism. Back then I found myself really worrying that I didn't know enough about Autism to be able to give my son the full head start in life, that he so badly deserves! For those people who haven't met him, Joey is an absolutely amazing young man, who although doesn't necessarily understand his condition as of yet, due to his young age, understands who he is as a person, and loves to remind you of this at every opportunity, through his depth of love, affection and cheekiness! I have come to learn with help from my family and support network, alongside Joey's mum also, more about this condition and how I can help Joey to reach his full potential! For this reason, I wanted to raise some money, and awareness of our local Autism support charity, this is why, we will be paddling our kayaks, approximately 100 miles in just 5 days!
For more information about ASD and my chosen cause, please do read on below;

Autism is a life long condition. However, many children diagnosed with ASD go on to live independent, productive and fulfilling lives.
