Kayleigh's Coffee morning for BTA

Kayleigh Dobson is raising money for Birth Trauma Association (BTA)

Coffee morning for BTA · 9 November 2022

We raise awareness and provide information to support those affected by birth trauma.

Story

After suffering a traumatic Category 1 C-section birth with my second baby in November 2021 and recovering still from PPD PPA & PTSD, The Birth Trauma Association provides men a women support following traumatic births. My goal is to raise awareness around birth trauma, and to raise money for this charity so that many other men and women like myself can have the support they need and deserve.

I will be arranging a coffee morning also (date still to be decided) in efforts to raise as much as I can for this wonderful charity!

We support parents - both mothers and partners - who are experiencing distress after a traumatic birth, whether that's full-blown postnatal PTSD (which affects about 30,000 women a year) or other forms of distress such as depression or anxiety. Birth trauma can be immensely difficult to live with, and parents often find there is no one they can talk to about the experience. Our Facebook group, a safe place where parents can support each other, has grown to more than 14,000 members. We also offer support by phone and over email.
