Story

Why am I running a half marathon?

I’m definitely not an athlete but I do love a challenge and I have a huge amount of love and respect for Matthew Wiltshire (aka The Bowel Bloke).

Who is Matthew?

He is so many things!

A father, a husband, a brother and a friend. My friend.

Matthew is the founder of the Cancer Club, a charity urging men to speak up about their experiences and take action.

After being diagnosed with colon cancer in 2015 and now living with an advanced stage prognosis, Matthew has decided to raise awareness, raise funds, raise spirits and deliver positivity to others suffering. A bloody hero, in my opinion.

So I’m doing this for my friend, for his charity and to help raise awareness of bowel cancer and to help get the message to men to open up and talk, do not suffer in silence.

I’m doing it for those who are still fighting cancer, for those who are recovering and for those who we have lost.

So please take the time to look at the Cancer Club, the Bowel Bloke and then maybe sponsor me to help me raise the funds we need.
