Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving Page. I am shaving off my beloved dreadlocks to raise money for Team Angus. If you aren’t aware of Angus and his amazing families story, here it is..
Angus is David and Jessica 's son. This is their story:
"Our darling son Angus was born in a car in the fast lane of the A120 on the way to Colchester General Hospital. When first born he was not breathing. In spite of our best efforts to provide CPR as we waited for the ambulance Angus was without a pulse for at least 40 minutes. Angus was transferred to Addenbrooks where he spent the first month of his life.
Angus is now 2.5 years old, he has a diagnosis of quadriplegic cerebral caused by oxygen starvation at birth. He is such a happy , funny and clever little boy who wants to be doing what typical 2 year old boys do. Angus is significantly physically affected however cognitively appears unaffected. He has made incredible progress since birth and has surprised all the medical professionals involved. He really is such a determined little boy.
We have been told that early intervention is key and that the most progress can be seen in his first five years when the brain is most malleable. In every area Angus requires more support than the otherwise brilliant NHS can supply. We hope to be able to continue to give the therapy and equipment he requires to have the best possible future. Angus has travelled to the NAPA centre in the US where he has spent three weeks at a time having intensive therapy that cannot be offered here in the UK. NAPA is a world renowned therapy centre, it truly is world class. Angus has made so much progress which we put down to this intensive therapy. He is an incredible boy who has amazed us all so far. We want to give him every opportunity to continue to surprise us."
