Malahlela Creche · 1 November 2019

Our life-changing research can fight diseases, tackle global challenges and change society. At Nottingham, students from all backgrounds can achieve extraordinary things, in and out of the classroom. But talent needs a catalyst. You can shape the future and help make the incredible happen, every day

Story

I have been fortunate this year to be a part of UoN Architecture's South Africa Creche Project in Ga Malahlela, a rural village in South Africa. Over the next six months along with other university students, I will be designing, developing, and collaborating on a design for a childcare centre to give at least 25 day-care age children a positive environment to learn in. With our design, we will head out to Malahleha, South Africa (at our own expense) in the Easter break and construct the creche. This project relies heavily on donations and fundraising for materials, equipment and sub contractors to help us complete the build so any donation would be greatly appreciated.

The creche will allow more young children and toddlers to receive pre school education while allowing their families to go to work. It is with your donations that we are hoping to build a creche that houses three classrooms, an upgraded playground, an office, kitchen and toilets with plumbing and drainage.

Thankyou!
