Please note !!
Unfortunately Due too unforeseen circumstances with insurances for the escort /Rescue boat it with great disappointment that the challenge to the Isle of Man and back won't happen in July.
We have tried many different routes around it to try and source insurance but we have had no joy.
I am that disappointed that I was just going to attempt it without the aid of a rescue boat but I was advised that it is not only a bad idea but completely irresponsible.
So putting that aside we have decided to sail from red wharf bay to new Brighton and back this totals 84 miles which works out 18 miles less it would be from the Isle of Man trip , so to make up the 18 miles we will aim to head out 9 miles from red wharf bay and return leg will be + 9 miles.
We will be heading to red wharf bay 21st July and we will set off weather permitting early morning on the 22nd or 23rd for our return journey. We will be camping over the weekend to give ourselves the best options for a weather window.
I hope I have not disappointed anyone in the change we have had to make.
It is still going to be just as challenging 9 miles out and just as dangerous in this type of boat
The trip will be to aid and help raise awareness for the Amelia Mae Foundation. The Foundation works with young children and their families who are suffering from aggressive cancers attacking the nervous system.
