We help active and retired fishermen in UK to receive emergency help

Story

Hi,

My daughter arranged for us both to do the half marathon for my fathers day present as she felt I was getting fat and lazy, both of which are true.  Although I have played sport all my life, including American Football at a semi pro level I have always hated running so my fathers day present was not greatly appreciated despite it including a trip to Marrakech, a city I love.

I started training in September and soon realised that running wasn't as bad as I had feared it was indescribably worse!  I also realised that my daughter had horribly understated how very fat and very lazy I had become.  So three months later with several pulled muscles, twisted ankles and sweaty melt downs later I have less than three weeks to go and I have realised I am completely unprepared for the forthcoming ordeal.  I  have considered faking a mild heart attack or the like to get out of running the race but as my daughter is a doctor this may not be particularly effective.

Anyway my target is to finish in less than two hours and fifteen minutes, not to do myself any irreparable harm and most importantly to raise much needed funds for the Fishermen's Mission.

All the money raised will go to the Fishermen's Mission who are the only charity who support our fishermen, their families, retired fishermen, fishermen's widows and the children of fishermen lost at sea.

So please support this wonderful charity and give generously.
