Great North Run 2017 · 10 September 2017 ·

Children and adults with Down’s syndrome are all unique individuals with their own personalities, family backgrounds and preferences that make them who they are. We aim to create the conditions that all people with Down’s syndrome need to live full and rewarding lives.

Story

Hi I'm Keith

I'm not your typical "runner" but I am pretty determined, on 23/11/11 my second Daughter was born, Amelia Hope Mayne she was born with Trisomy 21 more commonly known as Down Syndrome. She is quite frankly amazing and has completely changed not only me but the people she meets. I no longer have a stereotypical view of people with disabilities. I am now an advocate on what can be achieved, the world is a tough place for lots of people in lots of ways. All I want is inclusion for all and to support the great work that the DSA continually do to support families that have had their lives enriched directly or indirectly when a new life enters their world

Thank you for supporting me and I promise to cover the 13.2 miles with as much determination as Amelia does every day

I have also agreed to do the Yorkshire Marathon and 6 of my amazing work colleagues are going to run sections with me !! Caroline Lovell, Russell Firth, Ben Copson, Yan Johnson, Andrew Tomlinson & Lindsay Walton. Your support will be greatly appreciated and will help me to cover the 13.2 miles and the 26.1 miles

Thank you
