I have been given a trip of a lifetime by Jayne to visit Nepal and trek to Everest base camp with her. Nepal is a poor country and relies on trekking tourism. Because of this tourist infrastructure has been prioritised for rebuilding and repair over local homes. Nepal needs tourist visitors, so it is right to go, but it does not seem right just to go and visit, enjoy the country and not do anything to help the local people recover from the devastating earthquake.

So we want to raise money for Community Action Nepal and support their work in Nepal. 25th December 2015 marked the 8 month anniversary of the earthquake. It is out of the news now but the effects are long lasting. We will be arriving in Nepal almost to the day of the first anniversary of the earthquake.
