Story

DONATE TO THE PRESIDENT'S CHOSEN CHARITY

The President of Sleaford Golf Club, Keith Simpson, has selected The Paget’s Association as his chosen charity and he hopes you will help raise vital funds to support those with Paget’s Disease of Bone and also research into the condition.

Paget’s disease is a disorder of the bone’s repair and renewal process. The affected bone is often enlarged, misshapen and, in many cases, painful. Fractures and other complications can also occur.

Keith struggled with Paget’s disease and its complications for several years. He had surgery on his femur (thigh bone) to repair a fracture and endured several months when he could not put weight on his right leg. He also has osteoarthritis and the effects of both this and Paget’s disease, meant some years ago he had to give up playing the sport he loves – golf. A decade on, in 2018, following several operations, including two hip replacements, Keith finally felt able to return to the golf course. Since then, Keith has not only been enjoying golf but he became President of the Sleaford Golf Club. Each President chooses a charity to raise funds for and Keith has chosen the Paget’s Association, a charity that helped and supported him through the difficult times.

President's Day is on the 3rd July 2022. This page will close on the 1st September 2023.
