Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Keith did the run yesterday and finished in 1hr 58 mins, despite lashing rain at times, and as you can see, looked as fresh as a daisy at the end!
He was running in memory of my beloved brother Mick, who died suddenly and unexpectedly last October. He was the most amazing man, a loving husband, dad, son and the best brother in the world and we all miss him terribly. He loved children and so Keith was running also to raise money for Cash for Kids, a local charity that was very close to Mick's heart. We donated £500 to Cash for Kids from a collection at Mick's funeral service and I would love to think that we could raise much more than that from this event. Mick had tons of friends and knew people wherever he went, and it would be fantastic if everyone who knew him sponsored Keith, however large or small the amount.
If Mick ever made you smile (or ever p****ed you off!), even if you never met him but wish you had, please donate something and put a smile on the face of a child in the North East. Cash for Kids supports thousands of children across the North East of England who suffer abuse or neglect, are disabled and have special needs or who simply need extra care or guidance. So as Ant and Dec, patrons of Cash for Kids would say, "Howay man, put yer hand in yer pocket for the bairns!"
One of the reasons this charity is so important to us is that Michelle, Mick's wife, has worked for years with disadvantaged children so we know first hand that there are many kids living in terrible family circumstances who can be helped by Cash for Kids. His daughter Michelle also works with children who need a helping hand.
So whether you donate because you see how lucky your own kids are, or to support Keith's effort, or because you loved Mick, please just do it.
We're very grateful for any donation, however large or small, and please remember, if you gift aid it, Cash for Kids will get an extra 25%. Thank you so muchx
