I now work for Lilian Faithfull Care as Fundraising Manager and I wanted to lead by example to help raise money for this charity. I've been touched whilst meeting the elderly residents across the care homes, seeing how well they're looked after, but shocked that a third of them have little or no means of funding their much needed care - so the charity does. This could be any of us in the future - so I'm thankful for care home charities like Lilian Faithfull. 

Lilian Faithfull is a charity providing care, support and a 'home for life' to the elderly in Gloucestershire. In care for the right reasons - not for profit. They provide a wide range of support to residents including day care, respite care, residential care, assisted living and nursing care. Also have specialised knowledge of living with Dementia and end of life care.

The charity financially support around 70 residents and subsidise their fees to the amount of £1.3 million a year. This equates to approx. £18,500 per resident per annum. Through this subsidy and their 'home for life' pledge, they will never ask a resident to leave their group of care homes for financial reasons.

97p in every £1 spent is put towards the day to day care of residents and all that entails running care homes.
