On 30 July 2011 Mark, Bev, Joely, Anna, Sam and Kelsey will be completing a 15,000 ft Tandem Sky Dive!! Not all together!! Now that would be interesting......

We will be raising money for The Stroke Association and for Mark Tootell to have more physio sessions.

Some of you may know Mark, who sadly suffered a Brain Stem stroke in September 2005 at the age of 44, as the brilliant County Darts player who achieved a lot of trophies in the County League and won all 4 of the major trophies in the Exeter League.

Since Mark had his stroke he has shown such determination in his uphill struggle to improve the quality of his life. He has recently began raising money for the Stroke Association by having a Tuck Shop in his room, selling snacks and cuppas, which he makes himself,  to the staff and residents of Lucerne House, where he lives. 

We were told that he would suffer from Locked In Syndrome, would be paralysed and would not be able to communicate with anyone ...  After a lot of speech therapy and intense physiotherapy sessions he has proved friends, family, Doctors and Physiotherapists’ wrong. We all understand him and his dry sense of humour ... and boy is he sarcastic....He is a shining example of how life does go on and as he says “you have to make do with what you have got”!

Mark himself will be completing the Sky Dive which in itself is an amazing achievement for him.

All donations will be split between the Stoke Association and Mark for him to have more regular physio sessions (50% split). Mark is so determined to live as normal life as possible so anything you can donate will not only help him improve the way he lives his life but will also go into research for Strokes.
