Antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) is an autoimmune condition in which there is an increased tendency for the blood to clot. The condition can cause strokes, heart attacks, pulmonary emboli and DVTs. In pregnancy, APS is a leading cause of recurrent miscarriage and stillbirth.

Story

Ken Cottey, my Dad, died on the 19th Feb at 0044 in the morning, he died ultimately due to COVID, but had an underlying health condition of Antiphospholipid Syndrome. he had been fighting this for a very long time prior to his unfortunate death.

He was a Mechanic, Farmer, Body Builder, Businessman, and ultimately, a loving father and husband to a family who loved him ever so much. He will forever be missed and loved.

So in his memory, I've decided to do a solo bike ride from B&Q in Chard, to Portland Bill, this is approximately 45 miles, with large climbs and descents. This may seem small to some, but is a massive challenge for me at my fitness level.

Dad, this is for you.
