Story
This donation page is in memory of my Dad Kenneth Michael Fagan who died at the age of 68 at Weston Hospice care on Friday May 20 2011 at 4pm exactly.
My father was ill for a very long time before the doctors realised he had stomach cancer which we were told Monday 14 February and 2 week later we were told that the cancer stage was terminal and there was nothing they could do but make him as comfortable as possible. He wished to stay at home but as time went on dad got weaker and more uncomfortable and that’s when Weston Hospice care was mentioned by the on duty nurse who visited daily. My first reaction when I heard the word Hospice was not a positive one I admit but during my dads last few weeks, days, hours they helped my dad get though the last few weeks of his life. They were on call 24 hours 7 days a week and dealt with my Dad with the up most dignity and respect and I know that meant a lot to him but they also help us his family to care for him at the hospice. They supported us in so many ways like checking on how we were copping with the situation and they also provided us with a family room we could sleep and stay with him till the end, they also kept us up to date with everything and helped us also to let him go which was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life but thanks to the fantastic nurses and doctors at Weston Hospice care they gave me the support to realise that this was the right thing to do.
Before my Dad died he wanted to put something back into Weston Hospice care who cared for him so well and this is why I have set up this page. In Memory of a Father, Husband, Brother,Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Uncle, Nephew, Cozen and Friend please donate what you can. This is my story but there are going to be so many more story’s from Weston Hospice care so please show your support to these amazing people who do an amazing job everyday.
Thank You in advance
