We Raise funds for our school to provide equipment and activities

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am pushing myself to do something I never thought I would be able to achieve. I have been generally unfit and over weight my whole life. However, from the first lockdown something clicked and I have managed to lose over 5 stone in weight and have become mentally and physically fitter.

I am running the Cambridge Half Marathon to raise, well deserved money and recognition for Samuel Pepys School.

Not many people know this, but our beautiful daughter, Aimee has moderate learning disabilities. She is absolutely incredible, she is my hero. Even though it has been a very tough 7 years, I wouldn't change it for the world and I am so looking forward to watching her grow even more.

Aimee attends Samuel Pepys and without this amazing school I don't know where we would be. They are the most incredible people and have helped not only Aimee but all children that attend, achieve what once was thought to be the impossible.

Throughout the Pandemic, like hundreds of schools, all the staff were just so incredible. Keeping routine, safety and stability for our vulnerable children while also trying to keep themselves and their own families safe and protected. Not knowing what was coming next but always with a smile.

This is why I want to acknowledge their dedication and hopefully give something back.

Thank you for your support ❤

About the charity

Samuel Pepys School is a Special Needs School for students with moderate to severe learning disabilities. The Friends of Samuel Pepys School fund raise so we can provide equipment and additional services that are not funded by the local education authority. This helps to enrich the lives of our students. Examples of things we have provided include, the provision and running of the Hydrotherapy pool, the sensory garden, the forest school, the literacy lounge, the MILE room, music therapy, visiting theatre groups and much more. We are currently fund raising to replace one of our school mini-buses. We have been lucky enough to have been awarded a new bus by a national charity but need to raise £14k to cover the deposit - We need your help!
