Story
Next year will see 10 years since I lost my husband Mark to
Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Mark was 35 years old when he sadly passed after a12-month battle. Only turning 30 a day before he passed I was not exactly prepared for dealing with death certificates, funeral arrangements and being alone after only being married for 19 months. I had great support from family and friends who helped me along the way, part of that was to take up running, which helped a lot, and I still use that time to think about Mark and the time we had together.
I have been so lucky to have found love again and was
delighted when David asked me to marry him, we didn’t hang around and we now have two beautiful (and very cheeky) little boys, James and Oliver. David has looked after me since we first met, and will be supporting me through this challenge.
So next year is the year that I want to celebrate the life Mark had and the time we were together and celebrate turning 40. I am running the London Marathon to raise money for Bloodwise, who focus on specific research for blood cancers. Blood cancers are the 3rd biggest cancer killer and claims more lives than breast and prostate cancer each year.
Please donate as much as you can to help Bloodwise and my challenge.
Thank yo so much!
