On the 8 of June I will be embarking on a voyage of discovery and beginning a Beardathon, some may snigger as I’m quite folically challenged but never mind its all for a good cause.

My plea is pretty simple, I’m not asking you to climb a mountain or run a mile or even sit in a bath of beans, I’m asking you to let nature run its course and grow an epic beard for 6 months.

I need volunteers to embark on this journey with me, there will be a £50 entrance fee which will be split between a winners pot and Cancer Research UK.

At the end of 6 months those of us left who are still living the dream can choose to split the pot or keep on growing the fuzz.

I’ll keep everyone posted as I’ll be asking those of us man enough to take part to have a clean shave on the 8 and to upload a picture each Friday to map the progress.

I’m going to try and raise £1000 and do it in a way that’s a bit different.
