Darlington to Torrevieja · 3 March 2018

SOS Children's Villages UK offers unsupported children worldwide the chance to grow up in a safe and nurturing family environment with education and healthcare. We work to reduce family breakdown and child abandonment and protect at-risk children affected by conflict and disaster.

Story

On March 3rd 2018, I will be setting off from my hometown in Darlington and cycling solo and unsupported to Torrevieja, South East Spain.

It's approximately 1500 miles (assuming I don't get lost!) through England, France and Spain and a variety of weather and terrain including the Pyrenees!

With your help I hope to raise money for the charity SOS Children's Villages who help some of the most vulnerable children in the world. SOS Children's Villages provides loving family homes, schools, medical centres, and community outreach to children who have been orphaned or abandoned as a result of war, extreme poverty and natural disasters.

Anything you can give to help the amazing work that they do will be greatly appreciated.

I am aiming to do 120 miles each day and complete the ride in around 12 days. I know it's going to be tough but I'm looking forward to the challenge and will give it all my effort.

Many thanks for your support...
