About me... I started running the odd parkrun in 2019 and got hooked during lockdown, when loops of Southampton Common preserved my sanity...and were about the only thing to do! After joining an amazing local club (Lordshill Road Runners) in 2021, things took another step forward and I've taken on local challenges including the Great South Run, the Eastleigh 10k and half marathons in Bristol, Gosport and Southampton. 

Running my first Marathon in London will be an enormous personal challenge - especially for someone who spends so much time behind a desk! I'm determined to complete the epic 26.2 miles, to prove something to myself and in doing so to raise as much as possible for a fantastic cause. 

Edith's Hope is a small charity, based near where I live, in Hampshire. At any one time, they work alongside more than 350 children who have lost parents to HIV/AIDS in the community of Ngora, a small town in the Kumi District of Uganda. Support is given to children from their moment of need, providing short term, immediate care and enrolling them into a long term programme providing education, resources and structure to enable them to live sustainably and independently. Families are cared for through three projects: Child Headed Families, Vocational School and Business + Buildings.

Edith's Hope has supported 3,000 children since 2005 and provides 150,000 meals and emergency packages every year - this life changing work is only possible through fundraising and is a direct reflection of the generosity of people like you. The money raised will be used to support projects such as the vocational school for children to develop skills that will empower them to earn a wage to support themselves and their families; or to build safe, sustainable houses for child headed families. Every donation, large or small will be valued and appreciated. Thank you.
