You could say that I have had an interesting year as Captain of West Byfleet Golf Club! The Surrey Care Trust (SCT) is the club's chosen charity for 2020 and we had some exciting plans to raise funds to support vulnerable families in Woking. We also wanted to raise awareness and  promote improved mental health in the young people facing disadvantage, social exclusion and hardship. The Surrey Care Trust has a simple vision:

A society in which everyone has the opportunity and encouragement to achieve their potential and to make a positive contribution.

However, the Covid 19 pandemic has disrupted the plans and hopes of all of us, so I wanted to do something to personally demonstrate my continued commitment to the SCT's vision. 

As you will know, I'm quite a big unit. Therefore, I have decided to do something about my physical health whilst raising funds to support Woking's vulnerable families. I am going to lose 30 pounds in weight in 3 months! 

I started on 4th May and I'm making good progress. The photos below show me at the start and of my weight on the scales when I started (please don't dwell too long on that one!)

I need some extra encouragement as I get into the tricky final phase. So please sponsor me to achieve my target weight loss and raise much needed funds for this excellent charity.
