Stonewall Housing is the UK’s leading LGBTQ+ housing related support charity, helping members of the LGBTQ+ community who are experiencing homelessness or living in a hostile environment. SH provide supported accommodation, housing advice, mental health advocacy and domestic abuse support.

Even in 2021, coming out or being outed as LGBT+ can sadly lead to people being made homeless. Studies show that LGBTQ+ people are still much more likely to be made homeless compared to non-LGBTQ+ people.  Once homeless, LGBTQ+ people are more likely to face discrimination and experience sexual exploitation. SH currently support over 1400 people a year into safer homes and there has been a significant increase in numbers seeking support since the pandemic.

It costs £28 to provide a night of safety plus travel vouchers for someone needing help and £90 to provide a 1:1 advocacy session for someone facing eviction as a result of their mental health needs. Every £ can make a difference.
