24 peaks in 24 hours challenge · 22 June 2013
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page
Now let me introduce myself , My name is kevin miller I am 46 yr old married man with 2 very healthy children . I took up running about 3 yrs ago after a parents running race at my childrens then primary school, To my surprise and my childrens I came 1st .At this point I told I them I could run a marathon , I dont think I had ever seen them laugh so much as at this point I was 17.stone unfit dustcart driver ,But i do like a challenge .
.Since then I have done run 5kms 10kms half marathons and 2 full marathons so now I am aiming to do 24 Peaks Challenge for cystic fibrosis trust and too raise £2400 pounds .
The reasons for choosing the CF TRUST are very personal to me as I said earlier my wife and I were lucky enough to have 2 healthy children ,my parents were not so lucky because by the time i was 14 yrs old my mum & dad lost 2 boys to CF. My brother keith was only a few weeks old when he passed away , My brother michael fought against this awful disease for 19 years which at the time was a good age for CF sufferers , CF sufferers now can reach their mid forties thanks to the work of the CYSTIC FIBROSIS TRUST .But They are totally reliant public donations , Only last year government cut their funding by 6 million pounds so they need our support to help eradicate the defective gene that causes this disease or at least extened the life of CF sufferers,
I AM TOTALLY SELF FUNDING THIS CHALLANGE, so please every pound you donate will go direct the CF TRUST
