On 5th August 2015 at 11.43am, Albie Waller was born. He weighed 6lb 14oz and was truly beautiful.
He was delivered two and a half weeks early via emergency c-section, but when he was born he showed 'very little sign of life'; unable to breathe and very swollen.
The doctors made it clear straight away how severe Albie's condition was, and in fact that it was very unlikely he would recover.
Unfortunately this was proven to be true. The following day, the specialist consultants treating Albie gave his parents the dreaded news that Albie wasn't going to live.
After a year of successful fundraising by Albie's mother Stacey, his father Kevin is now keen to keep Albie's memory alive and continue raising money to help other families that find themselves in a similar situation.
Kevin, his cousin Kyle and his uncle Jamie will all be taking on the challenge of riding 50 miles around Milton Keynes in the annual bike ride on 8th July 2017.
They are all riding to raise money for Aching Arms - a baby loss charity run by a group of bereaved mothers who have experienced the pain and emptiness of leaving hospital without their baby.
Their aim is to raise awareness of the impact of pregnancy & baby loss and bring some comfort to bereaved parents and their families after the loss of a baby.
They provide Aching Arms bears to hospitals for midwives to give out. They also reach out to bereaved families who contact them via their website and social media, and post dedicated bears directly to these families.
This is a charity very close to Kevin & Stacey's hearts. They've been in receipt of dedicated bear themselves, and know first hand how much comfort it can bring - simply knowing that you aren't alone makes a big difference.
Kevin, Mark, Kyle and Jamie have been working really hard to prepare themselves for the big day, and training is going well..
Please get behind them and help us raise as much money as possible for this fantastic charity in memory of a beautiful boy.
Thank you for your support!
