As the East Midlands’ only hospice for children and young people, we brighten the short lives of babies, children and young people who come to Rainbows. We want them to have fun and make special memories. We are also here to support their loved ones through the most difficult times of their lives.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Our beautiful angel, Khadija, daughter to Nadia and Rabeh, sadly passed away peacefully on the evening of Thursday 10th January at Rainbows Hospice. Khadija was born with mitochondrial disease, which is a rare and potentially life limiting condition. In her short 8 months of life, Khadija had a great impact on many people’s lives. She defied all expectations on multiple occasions and continued to fight, even when the odds were against her. Khadija has been a great blessing to our family and everyone that knew her, and we are thankful to have been able to spend the time that we have had with her.

We are also extremely grateful to the dedicated team of healthcare professionals who were involved in her care at the Leicester Royal Infirmary and Rainbows Hospice. They allowed us to give Khadija the best chance of life, and a peaceful and dignified death when it became apparent that she had reached the end of her road on this earth. To show our appreciation, we would like to raise money for Rainbows Hospice, which is a registered charity and relies heavily on kind donations. We would be so grateful if you could help us in showing our appreciation by making a small donation for this worthy cause.
