Story
Zoe was only nine when her fourteen year old brother died.
She waved him goodbye as he set off a school trip to France but he never returned home.
He lost consciousness on a Ski-Lift in France and remained in a coma for three weeks before his death. He never spoke to her again.
Children in need aren’t always sick, disabled or living in desperate poverty. There are other ways in which a young life can be shattered and bereavement is one of the saddest. Nothing can be done to cure it but a great deal can be done to help.
Balloons, is a local charity based in Exeter, serving Exeter, East and mid Devon supporting bereaved children, providing one-to-one support sessions where children make sense of their feelings through activities.
