South Downs Charity Walk - · 6 September 2014 to 7 September 2014 ·

We‘re the world‘s leading cancer charity dedicated to saving and improving lives through research. We fund research into the prevention, detection and treatment of more than 200 types of cancer through the work of over 4,000 scientists, doctors and nurses.

Story

WE DID IT!  After 9 hours of nearly continuous walking (our lead walker setting an ambitious pace of ave 3.5 miles p/hr) we finished our 25 mile walk or, I should say, hike, for Cancer Research and Article 25.

The weather was extremely kind and the scenery beautiful which helped divert attention from my aching limbs, particularly the final 6 miles over the extremely undulating Seven Sisters up to Beachy Head.  My daughter Millie came to the fore, assisting me to climb a couple of particularly steep slopes at the end.  My feet are fine amazingly un-blistered but I do feel like a hip replacement may be required.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for your donation. To date we have collectively raised nearly £4,500 - exceeding our original target by £500 - which is fantastic news for both our charities.  If you would still like to make a donation, there is time to do so.
